Istar is a direct-manufacturing dental laboratory serving dentists, clinics, DSO groups and outsourcing laboratories in the United States and Europe. All major production steps - case data receiving, CAD design, 3D model printing, CAM milling, sintering, porcelain work, polishing, quality inspection and packing - happen under our own roof.

That single-roof setup matters for one practical reason: when a question comes up mid-case, the answer comes from the technician who is actually holding the case, not from a chain of subcontractors. Digital files arrive through STL upload, 3Shape Communicate or Medit Link; physical work arrives by courier; every account gets a named coordinator who reads your prescriptions and your history.

New accounts typically start with a small pilot batch - one or two cases through the full workflow - before committing regular volume. That is how most of our longest-running client relationships began, and it is the fastest way to judge fit without risk.

Can you produce a case that crosses several of these lines?

Yes - implant crowns on milled bars, guards matched to reconstructive work, provisionals ahead of final restorations. Departments sit on the same production floor, and one case coordinator owns the case end to end.

Which service should a first case start with?

Most clients start with a simple crown and bridge case to calibrate shade and contacts, then move to implant or aesthetic work. See Start Your First Case for what to prepare.

How does shipping and customs work for cross-border cases?

Production time and courier transit are quoted and tracked as two separate clocks - see Turnaround & Shipping. Digital cases skip the courier entirely. What happens if a case comes back wrong?
