Full-Arch: Interim to Definitive, Two Stages
A fixed delivery date tied to surgery day, combined with the hardest requirement in full-arch work: a definitive prosthesis the patient would genuinely like. Rushing the definitive design to meet a date is how full-arch cases end up remade; delaying the surgical window was not an option either.
We split the delivery into two planned stages with a written schedule agreed at case acceptance: a titanium-bar acrylic hybrid interim built for the surgical window, then a definitive arch designed after the patient had lived with the interim. The approved interim contours were written back into the design file, so the definitive arch inherited everything the patient had already approved instead of restarting the aesthetic conversation.
- Written two-stage plan with dates committed at case acceptance - both stages delivered on schedule
- Prototype-first workflow: the patient approved shape and length in the interim, not chairside under pressure
- Approved try-in data carried directly into the definitive design file
- Double sign-off QC (production plus independent senior review) and full component documentation shipped
Case overview
Maxillary full-arch implant restoration on a multi-unit platform; client implant centre, United States. De-identified.
The initial request
A delivery date tied to the surgical day, and a definitive prosthesis the patient would actually like - which meant building in a stage for the patient to approve shape and length.
What we received
Scan body data for all positions, jaw relation records, lip-line and smile photos, tooth mould and shade preferences, and the surgical date.
Technical communication
Delivery for the surgical window was coordinated at case acceptance with a written stage plan. The client requested screw-retention throughout; torque values were confirmed with the restoring dentist.
Materials & fabrication
Stage one: titanium-bar acrylic hybrid interim, delivered for the surgical window, seating instructions and torque values included. Stage two: after the healing period and the patient's feedback on the interim, a definitive arch was designed incorporating the approved contours - approved prototype data written back into the final design file.
Outcome
Both stages delivered on the planned dates. The definitive arch passed double sign-off (production QC plus independent senior review) and shipped with the full component list and documentation.
